Shiso leaves, seeds and stems are widely used in traditional medicine practices to treat nausea and vomiting, abdominal cramps, food poisoning and they are great to calm cough and headaches symptoms.
I am using it to balance symptoms of ESOPHAGITIS ( Inflammation or irritation of the esophagus ) in times that Hashimoto’s disease (Autoimmune Disorder) is present. For me symptoms usually occur in times of stress, during cherry blossom season ( Allergic Disorder ) and Emotional Imbalance. (Not coping well with sadness or anger, usually personal relationships are the trigger. ) Shiso leaves provide antioxidant and antiviral properties, therefore have excellent healing powers.
How to make a herbal tea infusion :
Gently wash 10 Shiso leaves .
Bring 1 liter water to boil.
Add Shiso leaves to a tea pot and pour boiling water.
Let sit to steep for 15 minutes.
Whole fresh Shiso leaves can be steeped a couple of more times.
Shiso Leaf Infused Water
Gently wash 5 Shiso leaves.
Add Shiso leaves to cold 800 ml water.
Add 1 drop of lemon essential oil.
Let it the Water Shiso Infused Water chill overnight in the refrigerator.
