Storing tea’s and superfood in glassware doesn’t only make them look inviting, but also keeps them stored in a healthier way than plastic boxes. Living in a city like Tokyo makes it almost mission impossible to avoid plastic, unless you prepare almost everything from scratch at home like I am trying to do. Or you’re willing to spend more money for glass packed items. Ordering often health products from the U.S. makes it even more unavoidable having to deal with a lot of plastic garbage. But our planet can benefit so much if everyone would reduce just a little bit of plastic in their households. It’s a shame, that what used to be normal became luxury.
My mom taught me, to store food right after purchasing in airtight stainless-steal container. About five years ago, I started converting everything, not only powders, in to airtight glassware. Glass provides a natural barrier to temperature and bacteria, making it ideal for preserving food . Most of the powders I don’t use on daily basis. Therefore I store them in the refrigerator to secure their quality. Powders ; from the middle; Ashitaba, Cordyceps, Maqui, Avocado seed, Coconut, Blueberry ,Lucuma ,Spirulina, Chlorella, Beetroot, Psyllium Husks, Wheatgrass, Turmeric, Nutritional Yeast, Matcha, Almond, Carob, Acai.
Buy products in glasses, wash them out, sterilize and reuse.
