Four Power Beverages that will Light up the Cold and Dark Season

Hello autumn!

Days are getting cooler and shorter. Here are my top four warm drinks and some routines for the colder season.Waking up at 6:30 am. Literally rolling out of bed and on to the floor for a few minutes of silence meditation in Balasana / child’s pose.

Set a positive intention or use affirmation.

 Keep your hands off the iphone!

If my boys happen to be awake before me, they will be seated in their little meditation chairs in the living room and the three of us are maintaining silence for a little while…..Then I start my day with nothing but warm water, no lemon or salt, just water. (There’s an entire study on this topic.) 

800 ml warm water  nothing else for the next 40 min. 

I practice Kundalini Yoga for 25 min and then prepare bentos (lunch boxes) and breakfast for kids and husband.

8 am BREAKFAST

As for breakfast, I usually will only have a 1/4 cup rolled oats soaked in warm water with applesauce. My boys have a banana or something small like an apple; we all feel good on a light breakfast.I will sit down quietly and really enjoy my espresso coffee.  My boys often put on some GERMAN to improve their skills in speaking their mothers tongue, which unfortunately became third language for them. 

MORNING :

Make your espresso and add:

~1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 

~1/4 teaspoon cardamom 

~1/4 teaspoon cordyceps 

~1/2 teaspoon cacao powder 

Using a blender, blend all ingredients to a nice creamy consistency.

~Top up with vegan milk your choice.

The colour brown  is  associated with fall and winter, earth, wood and stone. It gives us a feeling of stability and foundation. A feeling of comfort and home that keeps us warm and secure. A small cup of freshly made espresso is a classic and very elegant way to enjoy the healing qualities of coffee beans . The colour brown not only stimulates the appetite, but also has a calming effect of one’s mind. 

I recently read a quote that really made me smile.“I don’t drink coffee to wake up. I wake up to drink coffee.”

From 2 pm I feel like boosting my creativity and the need to energize.  Enhance clarity and get everything done including taking care of my five- year -old very energetic twin boys.I need to focus on many things at the same time until late in the evening. 

Remember to drink at least 2 liter warm water throughout the day!

2 pm AFTERNOON :

Make your matcha and add:

~1 teaspoon coconut Butter

~1/4 teaspoon Chlorella 

~1/4 teaspoon cordyceps 

Blend all ingredients till creamy.

The colour Green is associated with growth, life, nature and new beginnings. Green relates to the heart chakra / Anahata.Green is the energy of love and transformation. The colour green brings a sensation of excitement but at the same time promotes,calmness, relaxation, healing and nourishment to one’s body and mind. It represents hope and happiness.  Green is the colour of balance and harmony. Especially Matcha Green colour is a natural organic peacemaker if suffering from depression, anxiety and stress and will light up one’s spirit when feeling down.

After a long busy day and my evening yoga practice, I like to calm my senses and will finish my day with a delicious Vegan Golden Milk .

I am using my homemade Soy Genmaicha Milk, made with the Soyajoy G4 . You can also use coconut, oats or nuts milk , preferred homemade .

 

9.30 pm EVENING :

~To one cup of hot milk your choice add:

~1 teaspoon coconut Butter

~1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

~1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 

~Pinch black pepper

~Pinch cayenne pepper 

~1 tablespoon maple syrup 

Using a blender, blend till creamy consistency.

Nutritional Value of Maple Syrup

The nutrients found  in maple syrup include energy, water, protein, fat, carbohydrates, and sugars.

Minerals in maple syrup are calcium, iron, magnesium,potassium, zinc, sodium and phosphorous and Vitamin B6.

 COCONUT BUTTER 

Rich in Lauric acid, which boosts immunity and destroys harmful bacteria, viruses, and funguses. It boosts your metabolism, which aids in weight loss and increases energy levels.The healthy fats of Coconut Butter keep you longer satisfied.

The colour Yellow is associated with summer and sunshine. The third chakra called Manipura, located around the navel in the area of the solar plexus. It controls metabolism and digestion.The colour yellow brings happiness, positivity, energy, optimism and joy into our minds and hearts. The colour yellow stimulates the nervous system. A cup of warm Turmeric milk helps to heal, warm and calm one’s nerves before bedtime, helps to regulate digestion, nourishes your skin and strengthen your immune system while you’re  sleeping.

End your evening with the practice of Nadi Shodana Pranayama/ Purification of the Nervous System. It helps to relieve nervousness and headaches.  Listen to a talk down sleep mediation if your mind keeps wandering.
